Weekly Food Items
Backpack Buddies is constantly updating our food needs. At this time, this food list has the items listed that we need most. We are sending out over 1,400 bags each week. If you are able to shop for us during this time, that is greatly appreciated but a monetary donation also can help us go further with our mission of “because hunger doesn’t take the weekend off.” We are so grateful for the outpouring of community support and cannot thank you enough for partnering with us. Our office hours are Wednesday & Thursday from 9:00am-12:00pm to receive food donations at 96 Werz Industrial Blvd. (back side of the building at the roll up door). Thank you again for helping us feed hungry children in our county.
Food List
Individual Fruit Cups
Ramen Noodles Packets (not cups)
Canned Soup / Ravioli
Granola Bars
Individual Grits or Oatmeal Packets
Small Boxes of Cereal (individual servings)
Mac-n-Cheese boxes
Snacks - Individual Bags of Chips, Cookies or Peanut Butter Crackers
The items in bold are the things we need the most of each week. Each weekend bag includes 2 breakfast items, 2 lunch items, 2 fruit cups, and a variety of snacks. Please do not send any Little Debbie type snacks as they get crushed in the bags. We are no longer collecting bottles of water, as they make our bags too heavy. Any food donations from this list are greatly appreciated to help keep our shelves stocked with food. But if you prefer to give a monetary donation so we may purchase the food that is always a huge help too. You may go to our give page to make a donation.
Break Bags
We send out about 1,000 larger bags for each week-long school holiday and rely on monetary and food donations to help with the cost of these larger bags of food.
Regular size box of cereal (@10 oz) - no bags or the extra large boxes from wholesale clubs
Canned Vegetables
Canned tuna or chicken (small cans)
Chicken Noodle Soup
Cream of Mushroom, Chicken, or Celery (regular size cans)
Pasta (16 oz box)
Spaghetti Sauce (small plastic jars or 15 oz cans - nothing larger than 20 oz)
